Festival WhyNot

Festival WhyNot is a platform that stimulates innovation in the field of contemporary dance and performance, and creates an open and accessible environment to encounter these art forms. WhyNot takes dance and performance out of their ‘natural’ theater habitats and places them at carefully chosen locations in the city with a specific nature that offers a different perspective on the work. Next to the festival, WhyNot organizes smallscale activities with the aim of giving contemporary dance and performance a more prominent place in society.

The program, that merges different art disciplines together, offers a dynamic mix of (inter)national artists, with a special focus on upcoming talent, innovative works and hybrid forms of presentation. By presenting performances, art installations, short films and live music in alternative spaces, WhyNot stimulates an inspiring array of cross-over aesthetics and disciplines for both artists and audiences alike.
