Opening: Zeger Reyers, Kamiel Rongen and Rederij Lampedusa

On Friday night, September 11, we invite you for the fist day of our Dijkspark - Opening Weekend. With the Opening of two new art installations by Kamiel Rongen and Zeger Reyers, and the fist voyages of Rederij Lampedusa by Teun Castelein. All of the works are made with the help of (human) nature and use pis and water to trigger their constant state of flux.

Also on display: the graphic design exhibition by Festisvall Fünf.

18-09-2015 Hard Water by Zeger Reyers - In an ultimate combination of man and nature (or perhaps man versus nature), Zeger Reyers has created an enormous living art installation that climbs down from the exterior second floor level of the Mediamatic Biotoop building in Dijkspark into the Mediamatic Restaurant. Hard Water was constructed using over 1000 ceramic plates, soil and different species of grass, including Gaura and Crocosmia. These grasses are long and thin and produce bright-colored flowers at the tips in the Summer months. Zeger Reyers, Brigitte Hillenaar

Rederij Lampedusa represents - Amsterdam is een nieuwe rederij rijker, Rederij Lampedusa. De rederij begint met een vloot van twee Noord-Afrikaanse boten waarmee vluchtelingen de overtocht naar Lampedusa, Europa hebben gemaakt. De boten zijn bij hoge uitzondering geschonken door de Italiaanse autoriteiten en naar Amsterdam verscheept. Vanuit Amsterdam varen ze verder met en voor opvarenden op zoek naar geluk. Teun Castelein
