Mater Documentation - Vu Ha

We are looking for an intern who will support our events and program production. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, hands-on, and eager to develop a broad skillset — from working with artists and scientists to learning how to set up sound systems and multimedia equipment.

What you’ll do

  • Assist in organising public programs in collaboration with producers, artists, and scientists

  • Support the production of workshops, lectures, and installations

  • Help set up presentations, sound systems, and other technical equipment

  • Maintain communication with external collaborators across art, design, and science

  • Conduct research and follow developments relevant to our program themes

  • Contribute to event logistics, space preparation, and general coordination

Who you are

  • You’re fluent in English (written and spoken) and have strong communication skills

  • You’re reliable, proactive, and good at problem-solving

  • You’re curious to learn technical skills: from soundcheck to troubleshooting a projector

  • You’re organized and able to work independently in a dynamic environment

  • Experience with AV setups or a willingness to learn is a plus

  • You are available for 100 working days (min. 32 hours/week)

We’re not looking for perfection — we’re looking for curiosity, responsibility, and a willingness to contribute and grow. Our small team works closely together and values a supportive, human work culture.

What we offer

  • Internship compensation

  • A unique and inspiring workplace in central Amsterdam

  • A close-knit team and a collaborative environment where experimentation is encouraged

  • Access to a broad international network of artists, designers, and thinkers

  • Insight into all aspects of event production in the cultural sector—from concept to execution
