Slum Sessions #15

Rules for events

12 Mar 2013

The space gets color, the little houses more shape, as mirror images and opposites together in a small city: a real Favela becomes slowly visible. After building time is opening time, at Slum Sessions #15 we talked about that.

Every week we have a communal meeting on Tuesday evening to discuss about our Freezing Favela. The makers of the projects built at different times in the Fabriek so we want them to keep sight of each other. Last Tuesday we will talked about the rules for organizing a party in the favela, because some projects are almost finished with building.

Freezing Favela

Freezing Favela is a small city within Mediamatic Fabriek. Builders, cooks and other makers have been given the possibility to claim a part of the big industrial hall as their own. They work on their projects autonomously, but like in any other community, materials, space and functions have to be shared. Favela citizens are making tostis from scratch, paper from cow shit, furniture from cardboard, and food from our very own aquaponics farm. And everyone is welcome to contribute. Build this city with us. We' re open every Wednesday and Sunday.
