The main objective of Akto Festival is to open the cultural frameworks of a modern society through “ recomposing” and redefining them in a new context.
In the organization of the Festival there are more then 100 people involved, from different profiles and professional backgrounds, working in three different organization departments: production, art and technical department.
The program of the festival is based on two concepts.
The first concept is space/location.
Locations have been transformed in terms of their previous meanings. The basic idea of the festival is to come out of the standard, institutional locations ( galleries, museums, theatres) used for presenting art, and presenting art in new specific and unusual location such as abandoned factories, old ruined Hotel, roofs of buildings, shop windows on the main street in Bitola, old army house .
Removing of the pieces into new location transforms the piece itself.
The second concept is the topic of the Festival.
The topic of the fifth edition of Akto festival for contemporary arts which will be held from 11.08.2010 – 16.08.2010 in Bitola is weddings.
