One of the most defining and famous artists of our times. Cubism and Modern Art come from the eye and mind of one of the greatest geniuses in art history. He was a rebel from cradle to the grave.

In his younger years Picasso would oft visit cafes in Barcelona. Before his famous Cubist paintings he went through several styles like realism, caricature, the Blue Period and the Rose Period. Picasso also briefly went to the Netherlands. When he returned in Paris he had adopted a different and distinct style which is characterized by classical Greek and Roman art.

His work Les Demoiselles d'Avignon was a game changer in the art world. It was the painting that triggered the invention of Cubism. In 1913 the new style was introduced in New York and progressive painters around the world picked up on it.
