Het Parfum: the exhibition

Smell the Future of Amsterdam

After 360 years, the Navy Terrain opens up. We’ll get more space in the centre of Amsterdam. What can we do with this? There are many options, such as: Sports and Relaxation, Fancy Condos, Navy, Social Enterprises with Refugees or a Party Zone. Five perfumers developed unique fragrances inspired by these five options. The installation with the five scents is now permanently exhibited for you to smell the future scenarios.

Uitmarkt 2018

During the Uitmarkt 2018, all visitors were offered the possibility to consider these potential futures and play an interactive fragrance game to get their perfume or future of preference. The game stimulated people to think together about the use of the Navy Terrain. People were brought in contact by the use of scent and encouraged to discuss future possibilities.

The Perfumers

Five perfumes for five future destinations. The fragrances were made by perfumer Spyros Drosopoulos, known for his perfume line Baruti, scent artist Maki Ueda, IFF perfumer and winner of the Art and Olfaction Awards Ricardo Moya, Niklaus Mettler of In'n'Out Fragrances, and last but not least, Alessandro Gualtieri, the nose of perfume house Nasomatto.
