White Nettle

Lamium Album

The White Nettle, also known by its Latin name, Lamium Album, is an Eurasian herbaceous perennial flowering plant which grows on moist and nutrient rich land. The flowers are white and the young leaves of the plant are edible and can be eaten raw or when older and more bitter it can be used in a distillation. It is often confused with the Stinging nettle, or Urtica dioica, but this plant does not leave a burning sensation when in contact with skin. White nettle can be used to reduce menstrual pain and is mainly used for stopping inter-menstrual bleeding and decreasing unusually elevated blood loss during menstruation.
