Aphrodisiac properties

This plant is named after its power to enhance arousal! The ‘true passion’ comes from the chemical chrysin found in the plant, which has been demonstrated the potential to increase testosterone and boost sex drive. If you’re a man, listen up...it is said to be particularly enhancing for you!

One study published in the Phytotherapy Research Journal indicates that when given extracts of passionflower leaves, male mice demonstrated an increased libido for a short period of time. This was measured in the number of ‘mount’ attempts made by the mice, and after given the extracts, their attempts to mount the female mice were highest 2 hours after the dose - so time it well!

According to food enthusiast and forager, Denis Manzer, passionflower, hibiscus and damiana make for a ‘Powerful Love Potion’. Said to have a calming effect on the mind and body so that one can freely receive intimacy. Passionflower seems to be documented as being great in combination with other aphrodisiacs for its ‘boosting’ effect on other more potent plants.
