Foam_Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam presents a unique photographic fashion blog for Amsterdam International Fashion Week (AIFW). Foam invited internationally renowned Corsican fashion blogger Garance Doré to take photos at the fashion shows and numerous events programmed for Fashion Week.

Doré’s photos, which naturally include many featuring Amsterdam’s fashion-conscious public, show her personal vision of AIFW. Her photos are presented at Foam in projection shows and in prints arranged on the wall. This unique AIFW fashion blog is updated daily with new pictures during the AIFW. As the week progresses a kaleidoscopic image of 2009’s Amsterdam Fashion Week will evolve.

Doré is known for her street-fashion photography. A form of photography which is characterised by its straight full length shots of accidental passers-by. It is not just their clothes but the overall appearance that has caught the photographers eye. For a long time these images could only be found on independent fashionblogs, but with the growing interest for these blogs and street-fashion in general these photo’s have found their way to the pages of more commercial fashion magazines and their websites.

Based in Paris, Doré collaborates as an illustrator, a writer and a photographer with several international publications as Elle, Vogue, The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian and Le Monde. She aimed for a more direct and more spontaneous form of interaction with the readers of these publications and started her fashion blog www.garancedore.fr in 2006. The well visited blog is a collection of personal as well as professional fashion experiences, which are visualised by her illustrations and photographs. Other well known street-fashion blogs are The Sartorialist and Facehunter.

Tickets are €5,- and will be avalable from the 14th of July in the Foam Museum. Make your reservation at: exhibitions@foam.nl
