Pierre Theodorus Valkering (1960) is a theologian, author and Roman Catholic priest. He studied in Amsterdam, Nijmegen and
Rome. He graduated 1988. He became a pastoral worker for the R.C. Church in the center of Amsterdam. He was ordained a
priest in 1994 and afterwards became the parish priest in the famous Amsterdam neighborhood De Pijp, in the southern part
of the city.

In 2012 he delivered the posthumous book by his great teacher Father Jan van Kilsdonk S.J. Dag jongen van
licht. Toespraken bij het afscheid van homoseksuele mannen (Farewall young man of light. Sermons Delivered at the Funerals of Gay Men.). He presented the translation in Italian of this book to Pope Francis himself in 2016. In 2019 he published his autobiography Ontkleed niet naakt staan. Hoe vindt een Roomse priester zijn weg? (Undressed not standing naked. How does a Roman Catholic priest finds his way?) in which the issue of being gay in a Roman Catholic context is a central theme. The book caused a lot of public interest.
