I had an Abortion - installation view Thessaloniki - for the 2003 Thessaloniki Biennale, curator Rosa Martinez invited Women on Waves to participate. This was one off the installations that Willem Velthoven created for that show. It consisted of 48 silk screen printed skirts bearing the text "I had an Abortion" in 16 different languages. The installation on wire coat hangers refers to a common and dangerous improvisational practice of inducing abortion.Women on Waves fights to provide women acces to safe and legal abortion world wide.   Photo by… Willem Velthoven
