The "yellow lily"

Immortalized by German artist and naturalist Johann Kentmann who lived in Italy at the time, who then sent the sketch to Conrad Gesner who later identified it to be of the same species as the flower that he once saw in the garden of Heinrich Herward, councilor of Augsburg, Bavaria, that sprung out of the seed received from Cappadocia. Possibly the first of the Tulp family to have bloomed in Europe.
