Jesse Asselman

Jesse Asselman is a visual artist, painter and performer. With an inter-disciplinary background in theatre, art and medicine, they have a long held fascination for creative practices and processes. They attended the the Gerrit Rietveld Academie between 2014 and 2019, where performance became the central theme around which other media gravitated (including painting, writing, sound, costume-design and installations).

During the Covid-19 pandemic they focussed predominantly on painting. They are particularly interested in the power of imagination as a means of connecting - in recognising it as a common ground we all share.
