This plant has been traditionally used to relieve menstrually related headaches. It was a favorite herb of the native North Americans and Eclectic physicians for amenorrhea, the absence of menstruation. It has been proven to have positive effects in the treatment of various complaints associated with the hormonal changes of menopause, including hot flashes, sleep disorders and nervous irritability. It's also indicated for infertility associated with anovulation (the lack or absence of ovulation) and PCOS.
