Ying Yi Wu -

Ying Yi Wu holds MA in Fine Art and Design - Scenography at HKU (Hogeschool voor de
kunsten Utrecht) in 2018. She has an excursive background in Choreography and
Landscape design.

With roots in China, where mountains and rivers are indispensable landscapes in her youth, Ying Yi has created new roots in the Netherlands since 2016. As a visual artist, social designer, and storyteller working on the cutting edge of visual arts and performance arts, she explores what nature does to us sensorially. By taking on an unconventional perspective of healing rituals, she creates both visual impressions and sensory experiences by playing with dried flowers and other botanical materials.

Her artistic interests integrate nature, Chinese mythology, and the human body. By
crossing the boundary between the present and mythical time, she is keen to garden a
third space that encourages the universal understanding of creating, transforming, and healing. She connects her creative practices with the social dimensions of public well-
being and collective healing. Next to developing her projects, she shares the secret of her ‘kitchen’ through courses and workshops.
