Meet-a-Maker is a 30-minute session to have a one-on-one talk with artists currently working at Mediamatic. We are lucky to be inspired by the many artists who work and stay with us for exhibitions, residencies and workshops. We welcome you to meet them and be inspired as well!
About the artist
Eve Merriel Hurst is a British artist-designer specialising in multi-sensory experiences and immersive spatial storytelling. Graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2024, she finds wonder in creating worlds that investigate the taboo and facilitate open dialogues around identity.
Eve speaks English.
Topics
The conversations with Eve are meant for anyone whose main topics of interest are:
- Sensory, experiential design & designing with the senses as a healing practice
- Psychosomatic health experiences: designing for the mind & body as one interconnected system & seeking holistic ways to heal within a disjointed Western healthcare system
- Building community & conversation as healing practices
Rethinking healing spaces & designing the spaces we seek in order to heal ourselves - The design of Psychosoma through intuition-driven design practice & design informed by a community's needs
- Inspirations & research: historical use of alchemy & medicinal plants in mind-body healing
