Braidon Hobzek

Hi, I'm Braidon, a production and programming intern at Mediamatic this year. I currently study Interactive Media Design at the Koninklijk Academie van Beeldende Kunsten (KABK) in The Hague, creating works inspired by the intervention of the physical and digital. I have recently found myself investigating format-bending, a process of manipulating an input (image, sound, movement) and translating it into a completely new output. For me, the body is an interface, data can be anything,  and I see collaboration between viewer, creator, material and environment as necessary considerations when creating a work. 

While working with digital works, I always try to consider the materials and combat tech-waste. I am interested in furthering this goal, and discovering new interactions between the human and non-human. 

When not at Mediamatic or involved in my artistic practice, you can find me dancing, creating syrups from herbs and fruit, pickling vegetables and growing my recipe book.
