TestTafel’s Fermentation Workshop & Cooking Class is a hands-on educational experience introducing participants to accessible fermentation techniques they can continue at home. Guided by TestTafel's chefs, spend an afternoon learning together.
TestTafel & De Sering are expanding their role as educators through culinary knowledge sharing.
Fermenting, preserving and pickling allow TestTafel to utilise scraps and make stock last longer.
They will show you how to bring sustainability into your kitchen through an afternoon packed with a fermentation workshop, preceded by a cooking class and a communal meal to enjoy the fruits (and veg) of your labour.
Guests leave with a fermentation guide, their newfound knowledge, two ferments made that day, the cooking experience to bring fermentation & waste-reducing practices into a meal and two supporting recipes.
TestTafel will be hosting the workshop group in Mediamatic’s CleanLab*.

This is priced as fairly as possible, while considering the true cost of labour, ingredients, skills of the chefs and the intimate experience.
A completely free to join but less in-depth alternative is heading to De Sering West on a Sunday to take part in their pickling shift to prep the pickles for De Sering's community kitchen, served in Sloterdijk and De Sering Centraal at our location every week. Sign up to volunteer for De Sering.
