What will you do
Building on the observations and multispecies map created during Sensing with the Ecosystem workshop, we will learn what designing with(in) the ecosystem entails. After learning about the habitat needs of different species such as shelter, food, water, movement and nesting, we will dive into ancient willow weaving skills and basketry to create a woven structure for local wildlife.
Depending on the species we choose to support, this could include a bird shelter or feeder, a hedgehog house, a duck shelter, or other woven habitats that provide practical support for animals in the landscape. Our woven designs will be either taken by the participants themselves or offered to the ecosystem. By incorporating them into Mediamatic's Biotop, we are able to learn, reflect and improve our human caring roles within the ecosystem.
No experience needed. Bring curious mindset, your beautiful earthly weirdness, willingness to explore, sense, move, question and weave!
