What will you do
This session is for keen fermenters, cooks or gardeners who want to deepen their knowledge of the non-human agents helping keep us alive. You will transform locally grown fruits and vegetables into delicious, probiotic snacks like sauerkraut, fermented salsa and cheong, with basic ingredients and equipment you can find at home. Throughout the session, Roy will share poems from his debut collection 'stewarding' and guide you through writing a collaborative text on interspecies intimacy, thinking about the bodily sensations of eating together and lifecycles of edible plants.

Sean Roy Parker
Sean Roy Parker is an artist and food researcher living between Derbyshire UK and Vilnius LT. Through spending deep time connecting with (beyond)human beings through various strands of slow primary research —wild food, walking, eating, fermentation, composting, writing— Roy non-judgementally observes interwoven ecologies resisting capitalcentric frameworks and immerses himself in the undergrowth alliance. Between 2021-24 Roy was living and working from The Field, an artist-run housing project set in a former Steiner School in Derbyshire, finding (dis)harmony in domestic community and researching food as cultural infrastructure that supports artistic production.
