Her practice explores space, human fragility, memory and the feeling of home. Her work often combines architectural and natural heritage with traditional crafts, textiles, plastics and recycled materials in order to investigate the relationship between the individual experience and nature. Maryna studied graphic design at the Lviv Polytechnic National University and architecture at the Taras Shevchenko State Art School, before continuing her studies via international programmes and courses dedicated to visual art, urbanism and video art.
Maryna is the winner of the Zoöpolis Open Call. Zoöpolis is a one-month residency grant supported by Culture Moves Europe, EUNIC Netherlands, Ukrainian Institute (NL), De Ceuvel, and Mediamatic.
She has taken part in the following group exhibitions:
«Serendypety », Ukrainian House (Ukraine); ‘DIA Kinets’, ZIEGEL gallery, Graz (Austria); ‘Greifbar: Krieg im Blick ukrainischer Künstler’, Saarlandsmuseum Moderne Galerie (Germany); ‘Case sugli alberi’ (Italy); ‘Borderlands’ (Poland); 31 art space, Lviv (Ukraine) and at the White Stork Synagogue, Wrocław (Poland). In addition, she presented a solo show, ‘Dwellies’, at Halle6 in Germany. She has taken part in residencies organised by the Artists at Risk programme (Munich), La Kunsthalle Mulhouse, Dom Ukraiński in Przemyśl and the Lviv Art Center. She collaborates with organisations that focus on cultural heritage, ecology and social change.
