Niek Hilkmann is an artist, musician, and researcher with a background in art history, media design, and visual culture. His work focuses on the interplay between the technological construct we currently live in and the mental and natural wilderness that exists in tension with it. He is a member of Varia, a center for everyday technology, has written Floppy Disk Fever, a book on contemporary floppy disk culture, and makes music with the band Kwartet Niek Hilkmann.
