After 7 months of the pilot, Annabel Ross successfully completed her contract as the general manager of KFI. Mark Kamau takes over as the general manager after being in the role of Annabel’s assistant for the last 4 months. He is a former student of NairoBits (www.nairobits.com), a successful computer training institution for the underprivileged in Nairobi, Kenya. He joined NairoBits in 2000 and after completing his training, became a trainer. He has been mentored as a manager for the 7 years he has been in Nairobits, including management internships e.g. by one of the biggest publishing companies in the world with branches all over Europe (Wolters Kluwer www.wolterskluwer.com). He was mentored in one of her partner companies Digital Spirit www.digitalspirit.de in Berlin, Germany. The formation of KFI is to some extent inspired by the success of NairoBits.
