Trade Art for Art and Food for Barbies

This Sunday at Ruilen we have two very different swap events. In one area, there will be an Art for Art trade. The event will offer a less conventional way of dealing art, where collectors and artists will directly exchange artworks (worth approximately €500). You can still participate by registering here. In another area of Mediamatic Fabriek, there will be a more elusive exchange of Barbies for food. Pet van de Luijtgaarden will be trading a part of his collection of over 10,000 Barbies directly for homemade or preserved food from you.

Exchange Art for Art

Mediamatic's exhibition Ruilen will host the eleventh edition of the Fitax art trade fair. This is a great opportunity to view art that only lives in personal collections or hungry artists’ studios. Without spending money, participants can go home with fresh art. If you'd like to exchange your art on Sunday, please register here.

Food for Barbies

Over one hundred of Pet's Barbies and accessories will be directly exchanged for food this Sunday; the value of the food you bring will determine which barbies can take home with you. Jam, bread, and soup are great choices but any food that is preserved or easy to freeze is more than welcome. If Barbies were not your favourite, stay tuned as Pet trades his equally extensive Playmobil and LEGO collections in the upcoming weeks. An artist’s gotta eat!
