Marc Naguib is professor of the newly established Behavioural Ecology Group at the Animal Science Department of Wageningen University. He studied biology in Berlin, Germany and received his PhD in Chapel, NC in the US. He is specialized in vocal communication, social behaviour and social networks in songbirds. Furthermore he conducts research on how personality traits in animals affect behaviour and how the environment experienced during early development affects behaviour later in life. Moreover, his group conducts research on animal welfare. In this presentation he will address contemporary research on birdsong and social behaviour of birds, including parental behaviour at the nest.
