22 gas pipes that used to be under the ground are now floating in the air below the former skate park in the old dock yard. They represent the fast changing surroundings of the wharf.
The sounds emerging form the pipes come from the artists’ archive. For the past 14 years he has been recording noise and sounds in and around the ship yard. The audience manipulates the sounds through their presence and this way the installation continues
to transform just like the wharf itself.

The title comes from the many billboards on buildings and offices around the wharf. With the many different interests present in this area of the city the inviting text Come on Board raises the question who can and may really come on board.

Henk Schut (1957) works and lives in Amsterdam and has his studio in the NDSM yard since 2000. His last large scale installation was the Van Gogh Mile (2012). For seven months until the end of April 2013 a red rope suspended 5 meters from the ground connected the Van Gogh Museum with the Hermitage in Amsterdam.
