Jolanda Verspagen is fascinated by phytoplankton, a diverse group of micro organisms that are responsible for about half of all photosynthesis on Earth and form the base of the aquatic food web. She wants to apply her academic knowledge in society in multiple ways. Not only by sharing her knowledge in an accessible way, but mostly by raising empathy for the natural world among the general audience. One of the ways to achieve this is by taking on the role of 'Speaker for the Living' here at Mediamatic.
