In the seventies, Bologna was the place to be for urbanization. Ten years later Paris was the architecture hotspot, and then when the 1992 Olympics came round, everyone needed to go to Barcelona. Nowadays we are travelling to Japan, Brazil and China, and it doesn't look like these travels are going to stop any time soon.

The exposition Suitcase Architecture, the trips made by various designers are examined, and compared to the influences we read from their designs. Featured architects are Herman Hertzberger & Laurens Jan ten Kate, Herman Zeinstra, Rudy Uytenhaak, Charlotte ten Dijke, Pim Köther & Ton Salman, and Claudia Schmidt, who designed recent and obvious buildings in and around Amsterdam.

On display are travel logs, photographs, sketches and notes that explain how their travels influence them.

The opening will be held in Arcam with an introductory talk by Hans Ibelings, architecture critic, on the 8th of July at 17:15.
