Things That Mind Their Own Business

Transnatural Arts, Research & {future} Design

21 okt 2011
10 feb 2012

___ The first Transnatural headquarters program presents the exhibition Things That Mind Their Own Business with art, design, related workshops and inspiration days.
With Things That Mind Their Own Business Transnatural explores how a small but growing number of technological beings have made another step towards autonomy by taking their energy production into their own hands as an addition to their capability to work independently. These technologies are no longer just tools that serve our agency. Rather, they have to be tended by us. They place us in a role that is closer to that of a gardener, or a bee-keeper, than to that of an engineer.

With Tim van Cromvoirt (Thermophores), Philter Phactory / David Bausola (Weavrs), Mike Thompson & Gionata Gatto (Trap Light), Lex Pott & David Derksen (Transcience Mirror) and EZCT Architecture & Design Research (Computational Chair)

Workshops: Energy harvesting prototypes / Simple genetic algorithms / Transplant robots into household appliances (TBC)

Inspiration days: Energy Safari / 100 Things / Repairing the City
