Having ideas is easier than making them happen. Creators tell about projects that exist today, how their concepts and production process can help inform future work.

Rural Spark Energy Kit - Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken

Let’s kick off the new year together with This happened Rotterdam #5 at WORM! On Monday January 12th 2015 we are proud to present you an evening of fascinating projects to enjoy and discuss.

Waterwerk
Harm van de Ven, designer/developer at media collective Zesbaans, will talk about Waterwerk an installation which invites visitors to a recreational swimming pool to swim/play video games together.

Rural Spark Energy Kit
Marcel van Heist, partner at Afdeling Buitengewone Zaken, will talk about the Rural Spark Energy Kit and how they used their ‘hidden design’ method to develop it. This kit allows rural villagers in India to become Local Energy Suppliers who generate, use and sell energy.

Veiliginternetten.nl
Martijn van der Heijden & Bart Bergmeijer from Fabrique will talk about veiliginternetten.nl and its experimental approach: develop a concept, set up a working prototype and a user test within three days, with content only. ‘Content first design’ sounds good, but what happend when you take this literally?

Superglue
Mike van Gaasbeek (WORM) will talk about Superglue. Superglue lets you create a personal website without any knowledge of code and host it on a mini server from the privacy of your own home.

We hope to see you - fresh for 2015 - in the audience on Monday the 12th of January from 20:30 at WORM!
