The Masterclass

In this masterclass we’ll speculate on possibilities for modifications to the human body and imagine bodily solutions to evolutionary and environmental problems.

The full day program will start with idea generating exercises and looking at inspirational materials for modification. After this we will start to design our own bodily solutions in a life casting course. You will learn how to quickly cast your own body parts with alginate and plaster and use these imprints to sculpt your modifications, transforming your speculative design into something physical.

This workshop is suitable for anyone who in interested in the design of the human body. No prior knowledge of (bio-)design or casting is necessary.
