Workshop:

Botanikurs 101: Living Decorations - Kokedama

with PLANTMOM Monai McCullough

30 mrt 2019

Kokedama is a style of Japanese bonsai, where a plant's root system is simply wrapped in moss and bound with string, transforming it into a unique sculptural art form that can elevate your home. ‘Koke’ means moss and ‘dama’ means ball.

Kokedama has come a long way since its traditional bonsai, including string gardens which allow plants to defy gravity and make a strong and peaceful statement. Made popular by Dutch artist Fedor van de Valk, string gardens take this tradition a step further by suspending kokedama in the air. They’re a great way to bring diversity to your houseplants and are easy to care for.

In this workshop, participants will make their own kokedama, learn about the unique soil properties and master caring for them at home.
