T - Perfumery Basics: Arabic Scent

with Nour Akoum

1 jan 4300

Have you ever wondered about the magical world of fragrances and its role in the Arabic culture? The origins of perfume are in ancient Egypt where they were using fragrant oils in wellness, rituals and spiritual practices. Later, Arabic communities were the first to use scents and the concept of a fragrance. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) highly encouraged people to use fragrance, a Sunnah to be followed. During this workshop perfumer Nour Akoum will introduce you to perfume-making and how it is highly related to the Arabic culture even in its modernized version. You will also get the chance to create your own mixture.
