Karim Boumjimar (aka @beigetype) is a graduate of Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins, London. They work across multiple media (sound, performance and photography) exploring creativity through multiple directions and flowing between methods of consciousness.
Their work interrogates social hierarchies: demanding questions about identity, critiques of the establishment and personal reflection. The interactions between photography and performance are often documented in their work, through memories, self-reflection, and parodies of self and other. Through their practice, Karim translates findings from surroundings into tangible visual language.
They are currently involved with Past Forms, an artist-run organisation and project space that commissions new work, by bringing together international networks of artists committed to the development of emerging practices and discussions in art.
