With a BA in Art History and an MA in Visual Arts from IUAV University of Venice, I have been developing an artistic practice parallel to my interest and experience in curating, which both brought me to Mediamatic, both as a Penny for your Thoughts artist and as an Exhibition assistant.
In my personal practice and research I am interested in exploring active and affective relationships with nature, the environment and the territory, with an awareness of current ecological complexities and fragilities. For the Penny for your Thoughts initiative, I presented my project Liquid Maquis.
During my 5 months internship I also assisted with Mediamatic's exhibitions, events and artistic projects as a full-time Exhibition intern. During my time here, I had the pleasure of working and assisting with existing projects, as well as overlook the setup of new ones. Namely, for around 2 months, I assisted artists Suzanne Bernhardt and Philipp Kolmann in the development of their Neo Futurist Dinner project Ears of Earth. I assisted with production, development and installation of the work, as well as mediating the project to the audience and facilitating a ritual that opened up the Ears of Earth multi-sensorial dinner experience. I also coordinated, along with fellow interns Maria and Camila, the re-vamping of the Clean Lab, preparing this space to host future artists in residence and various workshops. Finally, my most personal and intimate interests led me to assist in the Hortus Project, originating a research about plant medicine and female reproductive health, developed with fellow interns Ada and Alix, and the invaluable collaboration of herbalist and educator Lynn Shore.
