We are looking for an Inhuman Carnival intern who can help us develop and run this research project. Would you like to work in a place where science meets art and where your focus is not just on humans, but on other living species as well? For those with an interest in textile-, fashion- and/or bio design, science and art, we offer the opportunity to intern in our Inhuman Carnival project.

Stichting Mediamatic

Mediamatic is an art lab that focuses on new developments in art, biology and science. Through art projects, lectures and workshops we bring together the fields of science and art. In our program we challenge the senses and perceptions of food, waste and unconventional materials. In this way we support developments in bio-art and actively contribute to a circular economy. Mediamatic also has a restaurant where themes from the program are translated into very nice (vegan) food.

Inhuman Carnival

The Inhuman Carnival project researches how we can break out of our anthropocentric worldview and learn to have more empathy for other species on the planet. In this project we challenge artists, designers, creators and audiences to dress up themselves and each other as the beautiful species our ecosystem is rich in.

Costume Lab

As part of the Inhuman Carnival project, we run a Costume Lab where we offer all sorts of activities whereby we invite (fashion) designers, artists and complete beginners, to make costumes of the amazing species from our ecosystem.
