A Formula for Innovation

Workshop which explores the methodologies applied by internationally-renowned media innovation labs. Open to representatives of media and innovation labs.

About Innovation
Media, Arts, Humanities, and Innovation Labs: The names, locations and focus areas may differ but they all have one essential goal: to inspire, promote, develop, and apply innovative ideas and concepts within a dynamic and complex media environment. Do the programs of these institutes have a particular format and methodology which they consider optimum for the innovative process? If so, how do these methodologies differ? Is the approach bound by the cultural or geographical setting? Is the approach rigorous or relaxed, scientific or artistic, traditional or radically new?

Organiser:
The Media Guild aims to support the development of creative talent and entrepreneurship in the fields of ICT and New Media. In addition to a dynamic and creative environment, a fully equipped work place and advanced technological facilities, the Media Guild offers a comprehensive program, focusing on creative development, practical business and organizational skills and entrepreneurialism. The Media Guild also offers its partners, whether from business, research or education, a range of specialist media services, ranging from screening and scouting to innovation labs. Partners can also benefit from having their concepts 'rapid-prototyped' by the Guild's selected 'apprentices'.

The Media Guild is situated in the De Zwijger, located on the Piet Heinkade in Amsterdam. This former warehouse has been renovated to serve as an incubator environment for new media companies and organizations. The building will open in September 2006.
