Speakers

Bowie Verschuuren

Bowie's work can best be described as a cross between film and photography. He is preoccupied with a cinematic way to tell stories in pictures, with scenes and allegories, characterized by strong compositions and a classical eye for detail.

Merel Karhof

Merel graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, and now runs her own design agency. Tonight she'll present some of her recent work, from everyday objects to a wind knitting factory.

Wind Knitting Factory - A project by Merel Karhof. Picture found on platformtworca. With the power of the wind, a knitting machine knits from the outside towards the inside of a building. The knitted material is harvested from time to time and rounded-off in individually packaged scarves. Each scarf has its own label which tells you in how much time it has been knitted and on which date. Merel Karhof

Dennis Duijnhouwer

Dennis likes color. He has done photo series on bad graffiti, animal prints and more, and since 2006 he has been photographing every artificial plant or flower he comes across. Resulting in an exhibition at Galerie Bart at the end of April, and hopefully a book. Find out more about his obsession for not-so-real plants.

Peter de Krom

Peter has a keen eye for people. In series such as Stokstaartjes (men who pose naked in the dunes) and Voetstuk (men resting one foot on something elevated), his photographs display a combination of a reserved distance with what seems like a personal wish to come closer.
