Dr. Spyros Drosopoulos is often inspired by music and art when it comes to making perfumes. For example, he has carefully recreated Vemeer’s painting ‘Melksmeisje’ into a perfume that captures not just the environment of the painting but also the scent of the girl herself. One of Baruti’s most-talked-about perfume, Tinderer, was also inspired by the song Tinderer by Danish band Under Byen. It is shown evident by how the aromas of the perfume matches with the percussions of the sounds in the song.
Spyros Drosopoulos is a fragrance engineer and is the creator of niche perfume line Baruti. Starting with a PhD in neuropsychology with specifications in sleep and memory, he was intrigued by how the differences in scents can affect our perceptions and memories. Perfumery for Spyros started as a hobby during his research and teaching career. Now with Baruti, he aims to make perfumes where the fragrance is optimized as a medium for wearers to fit the character of the perfume.
