Anne Helmond is a New Media PhD Candidate and Lecturer at the University of Amsterdam at the Media Studies department. She graduated cum laude with a thesis on blogs and blog software titled 'Blogging for Engines. Blogs under the Influence of Software-Engine Relations.'
From 1999 - 2003 she attented the Utrecht School of Arts (HKU) where she received a Bachelor degree in Interaction Design and a Master degree in Interactive Multimedia.
She participates as a researcher in the Digital Methods Initiative (dmi.mediastudies.nl) at the University of Amsterdam in collaboration with GovCom.org.
