Finally child labour was fun!

In this workshop kids were given the opportunity to design their ultimate catwalk sneaker and get a self designed shirt with their own drawings. Haute Couture was nothing compared to what these kids thought of...

The Future Designers

Fashion designers Natascha Hagenbeek and Maaike Gottschal wanted to give young, inspired, wanna-be designers the chance to become co-designers for their up-coming fashion collection.

Metaphysics vs. Creativity

Everyone was busy creating a very personal-slow-speed-unique-crafty-masterpiece based on the metaphysics and love of dressing itself. Both Hagenbeek and Gottschall wanted to use the direct creative input of young enthusiastic kids for creating the ultimate catwalk-sport-shoe to move this new collection fast forward into the future.

Details

The workshop was held between 14:00 - 17:00 hrs, free entrance. Everyone between the age of 6 and 14 was welcome to participate and were invited to bring along friends and family for a serious design-party. Shoes, paper and pens were at the ready to draw your design directly on white sneakers that were provided by the workshop. The drawings of the workshops were used for a personal shirt that you could take home after the end of the exhibition in Mediamatic.
