From September 2016 Bart Visser has been the artistic director of the Scenography course. Bart graduated in 1999 from the Image & Sound Interfaculty of the Royal Academy of Art and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He makes performances in which his fascination for the meaning of time and movement are central.
He also develops installations in which light and sound enter into a dialogue with the space and the players. Bart focuses on the interface between visual arts, music, theater and dance. As a director, performer, composer, scenographer and video artist, he has collaborated with (ZT)-Hollandia, Stella Den Haag, Dick Raaijmakers, Krisztina de Châtel, Ai Weiwei, Orkater, Rotterdamse Operadagen, De Toneelmakerij and Production House Rotterdam.
Bart's motto about art education is (to lean on Plutarch): 'Education is not filling a bucket, but lighting a fire.'
