I really like this concept!
mdb:
So i wanted to add some confusion:
I had an idea to do the same with a pretentious artyfarty statement:

And especially the variations:

I think 03 also gives a nice meaning to the mix-up the Dutch cultural industry is going through. Funds are being replaced and remanaged, institutions are cancelled or have to merge, and everyone has to find their place again.
So this is also an interesting first answer on q2.
2. Data visualisation is presented as the key solution to create insight in political
decisions, and thus increase democratic processes. What about known setbacks like
inevitable subjectivity, misconception or even being misleading?
Not alone the subjectivity of the designer is important, but also the subjectivity of the viewer. This is what I see in it, because I am working as a project developer in the cultural industry. But was this your intention?
These questions you pose are very interesting subjects for our workshop in March as well I think.
I like your counter strategy to a visualization. Would be interested in seeing that!
The answer to q3 would be (as far as i am concerned) to build sort of a cultural leaks.
The opposite of classic convergence, just show it all and let the crowd decide.
(off course it would take more time+effort to establish this)
