THE OLD AMSTERDAM FOOD TOUR -

It may be really hard to imagine Amsterdam without a single supermarket, however Amsterdam sustained itself without them for a long time. In the OLD AMSTERDAM FOOD TOUR, we travel back in time to see how the city organized its food system to maintain effective productivity! We invite everybody to explore the history of the city through the lens of food culture. Join our bike tour, which starts and ends at the Central Market Hall in the Food Center Amsterdam. At the end of the experience, we can relax, have some drinks and local finger food while we watch Waste Land, a reality check about the words’ largest trash dump in the Rio de Janeiro. We can learn from our past to find cheaper ways to bring good food to Amsterdam residents, while causing less pollution. What is holding us back? The OLD AMSTERDAM FOOD TOUR is a travel through the past to help us change the future!

The tour costs only 15Euros, it starts at 14:00 and ends around 18:00 in Jan van Galenstraat 4 - Amsterdam Food Center/Central Market Hall. Bring your own bike or let us know if you need one.

When you arrive, there will be some locally sourced food ready for your enjoyment

The movie Waste Land is for free for the participants of the tour.
