Repaired garment with darning mending technique - by Bronwen Jones Bronwen Jones

What you will do

You will learn all the basics of darning — a technique of interweaving yarn to repair holes. We will begin with a small introduction of Bronwen’s practice, she will show some examples of visible repairs she has done to inspire your own repairs. Then we will begin to practice together, you will learn about the best materials and tools to work with and begin practicing on scrap fabric. When you feel ready you can start repairing your own garment(s). There will be enough time for everyone to get one-to-one help on their own garments.Feel free to practice your mending skills, whether you prefer a visible or invisible approach.

**Please bring a garment to repair. It is easiest to practice on thick knits or woven material, such as a sweater, scarf, thick socks, blanket, but it is also possible to darn finer materials. There will also be scrap material to practice on.

All other materials will be provided and no experience is necessary.
