Ever been the star of a phenakistiscope-animation? Well, now you can, in the installation Counterfeiterphilantrope, by Serge Onnen (1965, Paris).

In a bright yellow peepshow the size of a garage situated on the square in front of the museum, Onnen explores all the different ways in which money is printed, made and destroyed. The animation draws on 19th century, pre-cinema animation techniques based on the artist’s drawings.
This combination is the focus of the exhibition. In kaleidoscopes, fragmented images are infinitely recombined in geometric shapes.

The exhibition will be opened on the 29th of August at 17hrs.
