This week in Smart Cinema 'Almost Famous' (8 pm) en 'Waking Life' (10.15 pm))

Waking Life, (2001, USA, 100 min.) the latest film from director Richard Linklater is less a film and more series of conversations. It takes place within the confines of a dream, where ideas reverberate between people and things make sense while making no sense. This is a film that requires people to pay acute attention to what the actors say on screen. The experience is like listening to people debating philosophy on a college campus. However, the first attention grabber is the animation.

In Almost Famous ( 2000, USA, 123 min.) writer-director Cameron Crowe brings the 1970s music scene to life with his semiautobiographical story of a teen journalist who goes on the road with a rock band. Uncool 15-year-old William Miller (Patrick Fugit) is living every teenager's dream. He's touring with Stillwater, an up-and-coming rock band featuring lead singer Jeff Bebe (Jason Lee) and charismatic lead guitarist Russell Hammond (Billy Crudup) and writing about it for Rolling Stone magazine, whose editors are unaware of his young age.

Entrance: € 5,50
