Preserved specimens of life

Discover the extraordinary exhibition PostNatural Organisms of the European Union, hosted by Waag Society: 11 preserved specimens of life forms that were intentionally altered by humans using the processes of domestication, selective breeding and genetic engineering.

Tradition of art and sciences

The historical Theatrum Anatomicum at the Waag was once the home of a cabinet of curiosities by famous Dutch anatomist and pioneer in techniques of preservation, Frederik Ruysch. Now, Waag Society is proud to be able to show you Rich Pell's exhibition in the same tradition where art and life sciences meet.

Vernissage

The vernissage of the exhibition will take place September 16th at 17.00 AM featuring:
Rich Pell (director Center for Postnatural History),
Koert van Mensvoort (director Next Nature Network),
Tijs Goldschmidt (biologist and essayist).
The evening is moderated by Lucas Evers (Waag Society).
