Wulumqui Lu

A little street with loads of street food vendors

Eat Street food – avoid stalls with few customers and low turnover and don’t eat anything that looks seriously dodgy. Don’t go for things fried in oil as they sometimes tend to recycle it. Other than that it is a great way of tasting china.

You can also go for a slightly safer option, a food street with lots of hole in the wall restaurants. Other areas to check out: Fuxing Lu, Xiangyang Lu and Changle Lu for breakfast, Huanghe Lu, Yunnan Lu (Uighur food from NW china), Wujiang Lu (Yang’s dumpling restaurant and street food). There are tons of options, so enjoy the feasting!
